12/30/2023 0 Comments Mini motor racing evo steamThe main problem with the game is the AI competition, which is vastly unfair. The visuals are nice enough and there is a wide choice of cars. The game has a weird handling model, but as it's a cartoony RC game it's forgivable and something you soon get accustomed to. A positive review (or a negative review that shows me things I like) may bump that up to my 'buy now' list, time will tell.Has great potential, but ultimately fails spectacularly due to some idiotic game design decisions. This game, however, is going on my "interesting" list, which puts it above other titles I don't own. Me? I am not jumping to buy the game, but that has nothing to do with the game itself, that is just because I have a lot of games already to finish first. As reviews start to come out this issue will probably be resolved pretty cleanly. If everythign they say about the title is true, everything sounds good, but given what has happened with other games by other companies, I can understand people being dubious. I sugest that anyone that is concerned about this not skip the game but find a good review/comparison to help make a decision. I am going to wait till I hear some reviews by someone who has played both versions, but I'm not seeing any issues on the surface. The only concern I have left is the nature of mobile games in the play time for a round, but that isn't an issue, just something to consider games with shorter play times are getting more use now-a-days as gamers get older anyway. Sounds like this might be one of the few mobile to pc "ports" worth the asking price. Oh not to mention the initial sale price making it a little less of a pinch on the pocket.Īnyway, I hope you can see/have heard enough to maybe tempt you to check out Mini Motor Evo :) We really worked hard to make it fantastic value for money and added lots of neat little features that make it fun playing with or without friends. I hope that clears up some of the questions regarding the price of the game. The entire currency and unlock system in the game has been changed. Cars that you would otherwise have to purchase on the mobile version are unlocked, leaving you more cash to spend on upgrades. Keyboard/Mouse/Xbox or Microsoft compatible controller supportĪ lot of work has gone into this to make it much, much more than a simple port. ![]() Full steam multiplayer support (invite frriends, random races, LAN support) Track editor with full workshop integration, practically limitless content to play both locally and online All artwork has been completely revamped at higher resolutions and much more detail Just to clear up some differences from the mobile platforms, here is a little list of some of the work we have done to get this Steam ready: ![]() Given the inclusion of the Steam Workshop and the list of enhancements given above it is less likely this is a lazy port, but I would love to hear the point of view of those that have tried both versions. ![]() I don't know what general enhancements have taken place from the Android version, but I do know that if few changes are made porting an Android game to PC isn't that hard (you mostly just need to recompile with some minor changes for a JAVA VM rather than an Android OS). ![]() While I understand the added value in this edition I do not quite see it being 10 times the price. That said, when a game is $0.99 on its native platform but $9.99 on PC it's a little odd. The inclusion of the Steam Workshop and exclusive content also helps make this a different game. (Hero Academy for example is a free game with microtransaction based addons on the iPhone, but a paid PC game with a special team that still has the same DLC setup, where it's cheapest to buy it on Steam and then get the DLC on iPhone if you want all the factions.)Ĭonsidering that a differnt team dealt with the conversion itsless likely that you would get any sort of linking between the two platforms, though if it is the same company that should be strived for. Now, if the game had microtransactions sharing them between the platforms would probably be a good idea, but in my cursory look over the game I didn't see any. In this case you are paying for a sort of "enhanced edition". This is indeed a differnt game than on the mobile platform.
